The founder - Myriam Alami

Active member of AIIC since 2006, Permanent Delegate to Morocco and member of the Advisory Council for the Arab region.

Myriam Alami is the Founder, Managing Director, and Chief Diplomatic Interpreter. A graduate of the École Supérieure des Traducteurs et Interprètes (Higher School of Translators and Interpreters) of the Université Libre de Bruxelles (Free University of Brussels), she also holds a Master's degree in International Relations and Comparative Politics from the Université Catholique de Louvain (Catholic University of Louvain).

A former European Union official in Brussels, she worked for 7 years on economic cooperation and development in Latin America, the Mediterranean basin, and North-South cooperation. Since returning to Morocco in the late 1990s/early 2000s, she has returned to the interpreting profession and, along with other colleagues, has worked to organize and restore the profession to its former glory. She founded, with colleagues who share the same ambition, AMIC – Moroccan Association of Conference Interpreters, whose objective is to promote excellence in the profession and to enhance Morocco's image internationally. She also served as Secretary General of AIIC for two terms.

Thanks to the AMIC springboard, several Moroccan interpreters were able to become members of AIIC (International Association of Conference Interpreters), the global professional organization that sets standards for quality, ethics, and professionalism, headquartered in Geneva and the only association recognized by the United Nations system through the UN-AIIC framework agreement. Myriam Alami had the honor of sponsoring several Moroccan interpreters in this process, thus helping to strengthen Morocco's presence in the international interpreting community.

She has over twenty years of experience as a conference interpreter and has been accredited by the United Nations System, the European Union, the Council of Europe, NATO, the IMF, the World Bank, FIFA, the World Water Council, and many other international organizations. She has also been an official interpreter for the World Water Council since 2005.

Throughout her career, she has accompanied numerous Heads of State and Government as well as renowned figures, and has served at the highest levels of the Moroccan government. An active member of AIIC since 2006, she is the Permanent Delegate to Morocco and sits on the AIIC Advisory Council in Geneva for the Arab Region. After more than 40 years as Egypt's President of the Arab Region, Myriam Alami has helped strengthen the representation and visibility of the Arab region within AIIC.

Myriam Alami is recognized for her tireless commitment to the profession, the promotion of professional and ethical standards, and the assurance of quality and rigor for her national and international clients. She also works as a diplomatic interpreter, consultant, and advisor to international organizations and governments, working for the excellence and influence of the profession and Morocco on a global level.
